The Herzog August Bibliothek (HAB) and the Curt Mast Jägermeister Foundation are proud to present the 2024/2025 Artist Book Prize to renowned book artist and photographer Clifton Meador (USA). The award ceremony will take place on Wednesday, 19 February 2025, at 6:00 PM in the Zeughaushalle of the Herzog August Bibliothek, Wolfenbüttel, Germany.

Clifton Meador’s latest artist book, Endloser Krieg/Endless War, focuses on the Thirty Years’ War, blending historical perspectives with reflections on the lasting impact of war in the modern era. During his three-week residency in Wolfenbüttel, Meador explored historical prints from the HAB’s collection, including portraits, landscapes and allegorical scenes. His work raises timely questions such as, “Who tells the story?” and “Which narratives are visible in images, and which remain hidden?” These themes challenge us to reconsider the representation of war in historical and contemporary contexts. The evening will feature a laudation by Susanne Padberg, Galerie DRUCK & BUCH, Wien, followed by Clifton Meador’s presentation of Endloser Krieg/Endless War. A reception will follow the event.

Admission is free, but registration is requested: via email to ed.ba1738765752h@grp1738765752rutlu1738765752k1738765752 or by phone at +49 5331 808-203.
