The Moravian Church was famous for its “human bookkeeping” with long lists of members, which included age, first communion, work, death etc. Using different archival resources from the 18th century Moravian archive, the present paper will explore how these details arise from and inform the tension between the time of the gendered individual and the cosmos to which everyone is understood to belong.
